How to hang Wall Murals
Wall murals are designed to be easy and quick to hang, even if you have no prior experience of hanging wallcoverings.
Where can I hang a wall mural?
Wall murals can be placed in any interior location including bathrooms (see below). Wall murals can be trimmed, some quite extensively, and so placed into small spaces. On large walls, murals can be hung centrally, and if desired a trim placed around it to frame it.
How do I hang a mural in a high-moisture area?
The installed wall mural must be coated with a water-based polyurethane (several light coats) to protect it from moisture after installation. In addition, if you suspect moisture exists behind the wall, an adhesive containing a mildewcide should be used. We recommend Zamix BioWhite.
How do I hang a wall mural?
Murals are supplied in 8 panels, making hanging easy and manageable. Have a look at the instructions that come with the mural:
Step-by-step instructions
Do I need to prepare the wall first?
Walls need to be smooth and free of irregularities. The ideal surface for a wall mural is a flat emulsion paint/primer such as Zamix PrimeBond Extra. If the current surface is gloss or semi-gloss paint, then roughen it using a medium-grit sandpaper. If the current surface is rough, then cover with lining paper before coating with Zamix PrimeBond Extra.
Can wall murals be removed easily?
The adhesive included with each wall mural is a "dry-strippable" adhesive. If installed correctly, your wall will not be damaged. This makes wall murals an excellent choice for decorating apartments and dormitories.
Are wall murals durable?
Wall murals are printed on 80 lb. wet-strength paper. After printing they are finished with a light coat of varnish. They can be cleaned (but not scrubbed) with a wet sponge.
